Fishing Spokane is a great way to spend some
extra time. Spokane is a nice place where
city life meets outdoor
recreation possibilities. There are
many places to fish in and around Spokane, and
we have tried to put you in contact with some
places where you can enjoy fishing with family
and friends.
There are essentially three regions for fishing
in Spokane. First, the west end of town,
or for our purposes we will call it Zone 1.
Traveling east on interstate 90 toward Spokane,
after passing Sprague Lake and Medical Lake, you
will move up away from the rolling fields and
grasslands. Zone 1 boasts many pine tree
forests dotted with lakes and open grasslands.
There are even preserved wet lands in Zone 1.
Watch for the Four Lakes area, Fish Trap, and
Cheney exits.
There are many lakes where
trout can be caught in Zone 1 west of
Spokane. Check the fish and wildlife
department for more information about fishing
Spokane Zone1.
We will call the area north of interstate 90, in
Spokane proper, Zone 2. This area of
Spokane has the most attractive parts of the
Spokane River west of
Downtown Spokane. The Spokane River
travels from the downtown falls west and into
Riverside State Park. There are several
opportunities for river fishing in this area.
Zone 3 is the area of Spokane east of downtown
to the
Idaho border. East of the Spokane
border is
Coeur
d'Alene, Idaho. The
Spokane River east of downtown has some nice
spots but access is a problem, so make sure you
check with local authorities about points of
access. Neman Lake and Liberty Lake are
good spots for families to get out and do some
fishing. |
